We couldn’t imagine a more magical setting for a wedding than Riverstone on the Crowe! Our story with Riverstone on the Crowe started in 1999 when we purchased an 18-acre slice of paradise on the Crowe River. Over the years we imagined how perfect our riverside would be for wedding ceremonies and small receptions. We knew our property was very special and we only had to showcase the abundant natural features to offer a very unique, beautiful, and magical setting for a couple’s dream day. We knew it would be an amazing space to host weddings but we just did not have the time to create it. We were just too busy working….

We are Terry and Gerri Humphries and since 1994 we have been running a successful husband and wife DJ business: Homemade Jam! and have personally done over 1700 weddings together. During wedding season we were booked solid every weekend providing multiple services for weddings and events all over Ontario. Our business took us far and wide where we worked in many of Ontario’s best wedding venues. By working with hundreds of wedding couples and other wedding pros we learned so much about how to give couples a great wedding!

As a multi-award-winning DJ company, we eventually became experienced with DJ/MC, officiating, wedding planning, photo booth, decor, lighting, and more offering our clients a one-stop shop for weddings and events. In addition to our wedding and events business, Gerri’s career was as a full-time Toronto firefighter, and Terry was a stay-at-home mom. Life kept us incredibly busy and as the years flew by we never stopped obsessing about how we would design the perfect wedding venue in our forest along the Crowe River.

We were having a great life raising our two boys, enjoying the privacy of our riverside property, traveling, working, and building a mobile wedding business. Then covid hit the world in 2020 and everything changed! Our family business was completely shut down, traveling was no longer an option and for the first time in over 20 years, we had tons of free time to work on our property.

Using a small footprint, we started the development of the property. Our vision was to create a high-end wedding ceremony and reception venue for small groups, with an atmosphere that is very far from a typical banquet room, event space, barn, or golf course that most venues offer. We opened our small boutique wedding venue in 2021 just to show couples a preview of the progress and within weeks we had our first wedding booked! Our vision became a reality and Riverstone on the Crowe is by far the most unique, beautiful, magical, and enchanting wedding venue we have ever seen! We hope you love it as much as we do!
